😘 - a few romantic references
🤬 - not horrible language
14+ because the stakes are kind of high
Thank you so much Macmillan for a copy of this book! This review is my own thoughts and opinions.
☆⛤♥⭑plot⭑♥⛤☆
Five teen geniuses were raised by a billionaire father, all of them adopted and then trained with state of the art facilities. When their dad dies at his annual Prodigy Ball (where he picks a prodigy of the year), everyone is required to stay in the mansion while they figure out who killed him. Close friends of the family try to help but as false accusations and sparks fly, they have to figure out who really killed Leontes Button.
☆⛤♥⭑the prodigies⭑♥⛤☆
I loved all the prodigies. I really felt with all of them for their pushes to be perfect and achieve everything. They all had lives outside of their talent and felt very real. I think my favorite was Perdita. Both because I like the name and her character. I really like Romeo, who was known as the failure because he was an outsider and didn't quite fit in.
☆⛤♥⭑the ending⭑♥⛤☆
Holy freaking plot twist is all I can say. This ending perfectly satisfied me and I was shocked. I want everyone I know to read this book so I can discuss this with them. This is a perfect twisty mystery if you want to wrap your mind around it. It reminded me of Knives Out, both with the mystery and the very unconventional ending.
☆⛤♥⭑the family⭑♥⛤☆
This whole family in this story was so interesting. Mr. Button was a very interesting and unique character. I liked Henry as his assistant as well. The whole Button mansion was very interesting. I would love to see another book set in this world or just by this author because I really enjoyed her writing. This book was a page-turner.
