0 star language - kids book, a character says h**l once but knows it is wrong
0 star romance - kids book
10+ because the plot is a little complex
I'm not even adding a content warning because this book is VERY clean.Let me just start out by saying I love how the author and her mother teamed up to write this book, it just feels so fun. The plot doesn't really start going until page 100 (for me, the plot is when everything on the back cover/cover flap summary has happened or what it has alluded to, in this case, has happened), so it felt a little slow but things were happening. There were actually a lot of things happening in this book, which I really enjoyed and felt I could understand well. We got a lot of background on Stella and her family and friends, so I really appreciated all the world-building. Some of the dialogue didn't feel quite natural, which was a little rough to get through but overall it flowed well. I loved when the title appeared in the book (said by one of the characters) because it showed that the title was very well-picked and clicked together.
Overall, this book was very good, the plot was well-established, the characters felt real, and I would 100% read another book by these authors!!
