I Could Give You the Moon

Thank you HarperCollins for the ARC! This review is my own facts and opinions.

⭐- language is a normal level for an ann liang book
⭐⭐ - romance is a little higher but not super spicy
14+

This is definitely ann liang’s most mature book. The romance is a little stronger than other books and the stakes are HIGH. i really loved it and highly recommend it!

~plot~
Chanel cao is *the* it girl and spends a lot of time perfecting her life. However, her parents have secretly separated and they are trying to keep it under wraps as long as possible. Ares yin likes to hide in the shadows, but his brother is missing and he will do anything to get him back. When they both see a vision in a lake at moonlight (get it? moon?) where chanel’s house burns down and ares’ brother appears, they realize they have to team up to figure out what’s going to happen.

~thoughts~
The mystery in this book is SUPERB. Little clues were planted the entire time so when you look back you face-palm yourself. In fact, I am rereading this book so I can see what I missed! As you see from the previous statement, this book is definitely a book you will want to read and then read again.

~chanel~
She just oozed confidence and i absolutely loved her as a main character! i would love to see another book from her pov. She is a side character in If You Could See the Sun and i love how ann liang fleshed her out in this book!

~ares~
He’s a bad boy! I wish i was kidding but i’m assuming thats what we were supposed to see. He was described as having a lot of piercings and sounded very hot.

~alice and henry~
Yes, they were featured! Alice has left the school and Henry still goes there but they are still SUPER CUTE!

~the romance~
It started getting romantic about halfway through the book, which felt early for an ann liang book but I LOVED IT! Chanel and ares are SO CUTE together and i just love them. Ann Liang, please give us a short story continuation or something!!!

There’s a Caz Song reference! (iykyk)

I highly recommend this book! You don’t necessarily need to read If You Could See the Sun before reading this, it does help a little, but that’s my opinion. If you love Ann Liang, you will love this!
